The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation obtained 9in X 9in paper prints of panchromatic aerial photographs from the US Army Corps of Engineers for internal use and distribution to the general public. The photos cover portions of the shorelines of Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Niagara and St. Lawrence rivers shorelines. The photos were flown in 1978 and 1986 at a scale of 1:5000.
DEC staff scanned the photos at 400 DPI. The digital images were compressed to MrSID images with an average size of 5.7 Mb. These images are available for download from the NYS GIS Clearinghouse ftp servers. The photos are not georeferenced and the photo center locations are approximate.
